I take you through the process step by step on how to tighten and correct the belt on the Xterra TR150 treadmill. Watch this video to learn how tighten your treadmill belt and thanks for watching!

Hey guys welcome to the video today in today’s video i’m going to show you how to tighten the xterra tr 150 treadmill belt and this may be something that you need to do if your xterra tr 150 treadmill belt is slipping while you’re using it let me tell you what the owner’s manual has to say about this it says for belt adjustments tread belt tension adjustment belt

Tension is not critical for most users it is very important though for joggers and runners in order to provide a smooth steady running surface adjustment must be made from the rear roller with the six millimeter allen wrench provided in the parts package the adjustment bolts are located at the end of the step rails as shown in the diagram below and here’s what the

Xterra tr150 owner’s manual says about belt adjustments for reference and to be able to read through all of this information just pause the video here um so right here and right here um these this one here and this one here are the adjustment bolts are down in here and uh the one thing i noticed so it says in here six millimeter allen wrench and i don’t know

What happened to the the original allen wrench um from when i put the treadmill together um but i got a six millimeter uh allen wrench and i tried to put it in here to tighten the bolts and it didn’t fit it ended up being a five millimeter allen wrench so i don’t know if this is going to be the same um you know on your treadmill but i know on my treadmill that this

Is a five millimeter allen wrench and not a six millimeter allen wrench so let me tell you what the owner’s manual says to do next um it says to tighten the rear roller only enough to prevent slippage at the front roller turn the tread belt tension adjusting bolts clockwise a quarter turn each and inspect for proper tension by walking on the belt making sure it is

Not slipping or hesitating with each step when an adjustment is made to the belt tension you must be sure to turn the bolts on both sides evenly or the belt could start tracking to one side instead of running in the middle of the deck um and i’ve had that issue before where the belt was you know drifting to i don’t remember which side but it was drifting to one of

The sides um you know of the treadmill deck here and i did make a video on how to fix that and i’ll link my xterra tr 150 treadmill videos in a playlist at the end of this video and if you’re interested uh you know please check those out and before we begin whenever you do any type of work or adjustments on the xterra tr 150 treadmill you want to make sure that

The treadmill is both off and unplugged okay so i’m going to use my five millimeter allen wrench here um and again i don’t know if that was a typo in the owner’s manual because it does say six millimeter allen wrench um or if it’s just uh specific to my treadmill but this is a five millimeter allen wrench um and then i’m going to make the quarter turn clockwise

Like so and then we’re also going to do that on this bolt over here and then from here um we would plug the treadmill back in and turn it back on and then we would test it out by walking on the xterra tr 150 treadmill and see if the belt was still slipping or hesitating and if that didn’t fix the problem then we would um turn off the xterra tr 150 treadmill and

We would unplug it from the wall and then we would come back here and we would make another quarter turn clockwise on each of the bolts um and then you know plug the xterra tr 150 treadmill back in and turn it back on and try it again and we would just keep doing that until the exterior tr 150 treadmill belt is no longer slipping it does say in here do not over

Tighten over tightening will cause belt damage and premature bearing failure if you tighten the belt a lot and it still slips the problem could actually be the drive belt located under the motor cover that connects the motor to the front roller if that belt is loose it feels similar to the walking belt being loose tightening the motor belt should be done by a

Trained service person so i hope that you know that’s not the case for you and i hope that by you know making the adjustments on these bolts here a quarter turn at a time fixes your problem and i hope this video has been helpful and thank you guys so much for watching please like subscribe and comment and i hope to see you guys in the next video have a good one
